December 2011 California Trip

Our first December trip was to California and it was just me and Linc. He did wonderful on the plane and loved being pushed around the airport in his stroller. He waved and smiled happily to everyone as he passed by. We got to see Mikie get some merit badges...we are so proud of him. He even says he wants to get his Eagle Scout, Dave was happy to hear that!

Lincoln found a bottle at auntie Christie's, it was her diaper fund from the baby shower. To Linc, it was a huge bottle!

Linc didn't need it much in California, but we took the Christmas hat I crocheted for him, it was a big hit!

We had a nice relaxing week waiting for my sis to have her baby. We even went to the mall to see if we could get some shoes for Linc. He has been hanging out in socks, but since he was starting to walk it was time to get him some walking shoes. He absolutely did not like them. My mom put them on his feet and he acted like his feet were cemented to the ground. He did not move and then cried when we tried to get him to walk. They didn't have his size so we left, lucky him. I ended up getting him some shoes later in the week and by the end of the first day he wore them he was pretty used to them.

My sister was induced Saturday morning and after only like 5 hours she had her second boy Jaxon Ruben Reeder. Linc was a bit jealous when I held the baby, but was okay when distracted by his Aunt. It was pretty funny, but makes me wonder how he will be when his little sibling comes along in July.

Sunday we had a little family dinner party for Linc's first birthday. It was a fun time and he got to play with his cousin's and see lots of family. He had his first birthday cake and didn't really like it, but did enjoy the ice cream. He enjoyed everyone clapping for him to take a bite from his cake, but still didn't eat much of it.

We enjoyed the rest of our trip and then had a safe flight back home to Nebraska. Dave picked us up at the airport. It was probably about midnight so Linc fell asleep on the way home, which was a good thing since we ran completely out of gas like less than a 1/4 mile from the gas station. We ended up pushing the car into the station and fortunately had a little help from some guy because there was a little bit of a hill getting into the parking lot. After that we got home safe, which was a good thing because Dave had his last final the next morning.
